Yves Melin

Yves Melin holds a law degree from the University of Liège (1999) and an LLM in International Trade Law from the University of Essex (2000). He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2000 and is the founder of Cassidy Levy Kent (Europe), a law firm specializing in international trade law with offices in Brussels, Ottawa, and Washington. His practice focuses on international trade and customs law, as well as regulatory issues related to the import and export of goods.

Since 2018, he has been a member of the Customs & Trade Law Academy at the University of Liège and serves as a lecturer at ULiège and UAntwerpen. He is also the founder of Greenlane.eu, an association of lawyers practicing customs law, and Customspliance.eu, an association co-founded by the University of Liège dedicated to the exchange of experience and learning in customs matters in French-speaking Belgium.

Additionally, he serves as Vice President of CONFIAD (the International Confederation of Customs Agents) and is a member of the editorial board of the Global Trade & Customs Journal (Kluwer).
